Let's Make it Rain... All Over Dana Starr!
Hi, I'm Grace, fundraising for our most lovely, shining, cute-as-a-button Dana Starr! She's poured out into all of our lives for so many years and loved us to infinity... and this is just one avenue in which we can pour back into her--I know we're all biting at the bit to be able to "do something" and demonstrate our love in a practical way. So here we go...
Most of you already know the details but for those of you who don't... on July 31, 2021, Dana was mountain bossing... I mean biking*, at Mammoth Mountain bike park--like the little badazz she is--when she went over the handle bars on a feature. Though she was wearing full protective gear, her injuries stacked and resulted in a fractured c3, c4, t5 and a burst fracture of the t6 along with multiple broken ribs. She lost all feeling/movement from the neck down. She was airlifted to Renown Trauma Center where she was diagnosed with Central Cord Syndrome and was admitted into the ICU for 8 days. On day 9, Dana was transferred to the Renown Rehabilitation Hospital, where she is currently continuing to work toward her recovery and healing. Dana has lived in Mammoth lakes since 2000 and has been working as a nurse since 2008 in Bishop and Mammoth.
As you can imagine, she's been handling the trauma with such grace, strength and determination that would be unmatched by most. The physical and emotional aspect is, on its own, quite the hurdle but we've also got to address her medical and living expenses... for both she and Brenty. This is the time where we can love on Dana from a far, in a practical way and show our support along this path of healing. Please come along side of us and let's give all that we can give! ...and hey, then maybe even a little more! The "gift of giving" is a very real and true thing... so let's BRING IT for our shining Dana Starr who we love with all our might! Every donation will go directly to Dana's bank account via this "gofundme" site, accessible only by Dana. Thank you all for indulging in my words and in your love for Dana! Besos!
