I’m Gaspar; I have lived in the United States for five years, exploring and working very hard for my dream. I managed to perceive and live a very different life than I once thought I’d have when I lived in Colombia. Without a doubt, I am grateful for all the opportunities this country has given me.
However, the eagerness the consumerism of that same lifestyle overwhelms me some days. That’s when the wheels save me; when I walk around the city with my skates, with a lifestyle and a vision of seeing the world differently.
The last time I did it, I didn’t think I would end up with a broken ankle. I’ve been waiting two weeks for my surgery, which was delayed because I don’t have the money. This is why you are reading this letter.
Today I need your help. Any small contribution helps me afford this surgery that I did not expect and that I need to get better. I want to be back on my feet, to work, to keep imagining and keep building this dream. I thank you for the time and your kindness.
Con amor,
Gaspar
