As many of you know, Robbie and I found a tiny town in Mexico, about 3 1/2 years ago. We were welcomed by many people in this, forgotten tiny town.
Since that time, the locals have become our family and they have invited us into theirs!
There is one particular individual, a beautiful young woman, Zaida.
Zaida just took over the taco cart from her mother, within the last year and a half. She helps with the local children's Christmas celebration every winter.
Zaida also cares for her siblings, nieces and nephews, under her own roof. She even took me under her wing and befriended me, even though neither one of us spoke the other persons language.
TRAGICALLY, just after the New Year, she was hit by a truck and thrown from a motor scooter.
Zaida was raced to the hospital with spinal and head injuries, perforated lung and shoulder damage.
The doctors performed cervical spinal surgery, one of the many, on Zaida, where she will remain through recovery and rehabilitation, for an un-estimated time.
Basic insurance needs are taken care of by the government. Any" specialty" such as the procedure, which Zaida had performed, IS NOT COVERED BY THE GOVERNMENT! No families out there have health insurance!
Zaida's friends and family are trying to sell household goods to help pay for the costs, now incurred to the family.
If Robbie and I had the capability, we would pay for this outright. However, we are going to do this with the help of "MANY",
THROUGH SHEER GRACIOUSNESS!!
I KNOW, this is asking a lot, especially somebody who no-one knows, helping a young individual in another country.
All I can ask is: "DO UNTO OTHERS, AS YOU WOULD HAVE DONE UNTO YOU"
Zaida has another 3 surgery's, in the next 3 weeks.
We have totaled the estimate in American dollars. $45,000.00
To many of us in the states, if we had insurance, this is a lot, Somehow we would try to see our way through these amounts.
TO A FAMILY who makes their living, having a taco cart in the evenings, this would completely diminish their ability, to take care of basic LIFE NEEDS, food, electrical, water, etc. Not to mention, caretaking all the family, siblings, nieces and nephews, in their Tiny accommodations.
WE are asking every and anyone to reach into their hearts and help donate whatever they can, to cover costs, so Zaida's health care may continue.
We are trying to get any funds to her, at the hospital, immediately, so there is no hold up in her upcoming procedures.
THANK YOU ALL FOR EVEN TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS!
EVEN PRAYERS ARE MUCH WELCOMED!!
May we all have a blessed and Happy New Year!
