UPDATE ON June 4, 2024:

Good news—Wendy is getting her second prosthetic leg today!

She is a true warrior and soon will be a Super Bionic Woman.

She asked me to update you all on her progress and thank you from the bottom of her heart for all your support during this painful and challenging ordeal.

UPDATE ON April 19, 2024:

Unfortunately, due to complications, Wendy’s right leg had to be amputated right above the knee. The surgery was yesterday. This was Wendy’s 10th surgery. After she heals, she will begin a long journey of learning how to walk with a different set of prosthetics. If you know Wendy, you know how resilient, strong, and optimistic she is, but now she needs your support and help more than ever. Please cut the girl a break before the her disability check makes it through the jumble of red tape and help us reach the goal of this fundraiser! Any amount will make a big difference!

Dear Friends and Jazz Community,

After multiple surgeries, and amputation of her right leg two months ago, Wendy had to have her left leg amputated at the beginning of December.

She has since undergone intensive therapy and is now home adjusting to her new reality as a double amputee. 

Always a fighter, she is in good spirits despite the pain and suffering she has endured.

She needs to heal completely before she can be fitted with two prosthetic legs in a few months. Needless to say, she is facing a long and very difficult journey.
