Let’s help Uncle Ivan Costain get to PEI

Final update:

Sadly Uncle Ivan passed away December 20th at 8:45pm.

His last wish was to be sent directly home to PEI and be buried in the same cemetery as his parents.

This will cost approximately 15K and will be handled by the Ferguson funeral home in O’Leary PEI.

We have raised some with the gofundme and other donations have come in through etransfer but we are still so far away from our goal.

If anyone’s able to donate even a few dollars, or share this gofundme that would be amazing.

Every donation received will go directly to the funeral and other costs associated with this. We also hope to raise enough to have a small memorial for dad here in BC for everyone who will be unable to make it to PEI for his funeral.

I am Samantha Miller daughter of Melvin (Tude) Costain, niece of Ivan Costain.

As we know Uncle Ivan isn’t doing so well with his health. He has been hospitalized since Sept 16th/24

I understand he hasnt created a will, nor does he have plans for his final stages in life. He has strongly expressed that he would like to be buried in a coffin in the Miminegash cemetery along with his Costain family.

The cost for transportation, burial etc. is beyond his means. Let’s help make his final wishes attainable.

Any remaining funds will be donated in Ivan’s name to the charity foundation of his wishes.

Approx $7000. For transport from Surrey BC to Charlottetown PEI

$3000. For Fergusons to pick up in Charlottetown, prepare the body for burial

Coffin- cost pending style chosen

$950- open and close casket for service

$150- minister to perform graveside memorial ceremony
