Mi nombre es Tao Tiziana Alvarado y hoy, más que nunca, te pido tu solidaridad. Vivo en la isla de Margarita, Venezuela, un lugar donde las fuertes lluvias de 2024 destruyeron gran parte del techo de mi hogar. Solo me queda una pequeña sección de mi habitación que aún está a salvo del agua, pero incluso esa parte enfrenta goteras que amenazan con empeorar.

En este hogar vivo junto a 13 perros y 16 gatos que rescaté de las calles, muchos de ellos en condiciones críticas de abandono y sufrimiento. Esta casa no solo es un refugio para mí, sino para ellos, que no tienen a dónde más ir. Juntos compartimos una lucha diaria por la supervivencia, pero cada día se vuelve más difícil mantenerlos a salvo, alimentados y cuidados.

La situación es urgente:

• Reparar el techo de la casa cuesta $2,157.88 en materiales y $750 en mano de obra.

• Mi único ingreso proviene de un emprendimiento de transporte, que está paralizado desde febrero debido a un incendio en mi camioneta. Repararla cuesta $800, y también deben arreglarse el motor y el ramal eléctrico.

• El costo semanal de comida para los animales, que incluye hígado, mollejas de pollo, sardinas, arroz y harina de maíz, es de aproximadamente $50.

Además, en la isla de Margarita, la situación con los animales es crítica. Hay un descontrol total sobre la sobrepoblación animal, y muchas veces las personas no respetan la vida de los animales, maltratándolos y abandonándolos a su suerte. Esta falta de conciencia y el maltrato constante hacen que la tarea de cuidar a estos animales sea aún más difícil.

Una parte de los fondos recaudados se destinará a comprar medicinas esenciales, como antiparasitarios y otros tratamientos médicos necesarios para los animales, también como la esterilización.

Además, planeo utilizar los recursos para esterilizar a los animales rescatados , una acción vital para controlar la sobrepoblación y evitar futuros casos de abandono. Este trabajo es fundamental, no solo para mejorar la calidad de vida de los animales, sino también para contribuir al bienestar general de la isla.

My name is Tao Tiziana Alvarado, and today, more than ever, I ask for your solidarity. I live on the island of Margarita, Venezuela, a place where the heavy rains of 2024 destroyed much of the roof of my home. I am left with only a small part of my room that is still safe from the water, but even that area has leaks that are threatening to get worse.

In this home, I live with 13 dogs and 16 cats that I rescued from the streets, many of them in critical conditions of abandonment and suffering. This house is not just a shelter for me, but for them, as they have nowhere else to go. Together, we share a daily struggle for survival, but each day it becomes more difficult to keep them safe, fed, and cared for.

The situation is urgent:

• Repairing the roof of the house costs $2,157.88 in materials and $750 in labor.

• My only source of income comes from a transportation business, which has been paralyzed since February due to a fire in my truck. Repairing it costs $800, and the motor and electrical system need to be fixed.

• The weekly food cost for the animals, which includes liver, chicken gizzards, sardines, rice, and cornmeal, is approximately $50.

Moreover, the situation with animals on Margarita Island is critical. There is total chaos with the overpopulation of animals, and many times people do not respect animal life, mistreating them and abandoning them. This lack of awareness and constant mistreatment make it even harder to care for these animals.

Part of the funds raised will go towards buying essential medicines, such as antiparasitics and other necessary treatments for the animals. Additionally, I plan to use the resources to sterilize the rescued animals, a vital action to control overpopulation and prevent future abandonment cases. This work is fundamental, not only to improve the quality of life for the animals but also to contribute to the general well-being of the island.

• Repair the truck and get back to work, which will allow me to keep generating the necessary resources.

• Buy medicines to keep the animals healthy and strong.
