Hi, my name is Jeannie and I'm fundraising for Brett, Jill and their three precious little ones. The VanderMeer family, who we all know and love, is in a tough situation and need our help. For the foreseeable future, their home is unlivable due to extremely high mold counts. They discovered toxic mold after their oldest child was constantly sick every other week for 2 years. They had water damage in their home 3 years ago and a company came out to remediate. They didn’t mitigate properly causing mold to grow at an alarming rate inside the walls. In order to find the mold the VanderMeers hired experts and ran a multitude of tests costing thousands of dollars. They finally found the source of 576,000 spores (per cubic meter) of mold: the same mold in their son’s body.

Their family of five has been living in their car and at the generosity of some dear friends & family all over the country. They have moved 23 times in 8 months. To say they are exhausted and stressed is putting it mildly. School, work, personal business and more has been disrupted because of this nightmare. The kids have expressed anxiety and insecurity, whether it’s not eating for days, emotional, or even expressing uncharacteristic behaviors.

Because the mold has spread throughout their home they have had to throw away every porous item they own and will have to find over $400K to tear apart and re build their home. We are starting with trying to raise $150,000 to get everything started. However, in addition to rebuilding their home they will need to buy new mattresses, furniture, and all their personal belongings. To top off this extremely difficult time, they also have medical bills for Lincoln and now Adeline and Brett also have tested positive for mold toxicity.

Any help for this family would be GREATLY appreciated and overwhelming for this family.
