Let's help the Soller Ohana

Aloha family and friends,

We are a part of the Softball Ohana of Krystel and Adrian Soller. They have 3 children, Kiani, Kekoa and Riley.

In 2017, they noticed that their son Kekoa who displaying signs of muscle weakness. That is when the journey started.

He was seen by 7 different doctors here in Honolulu in which all said he was normal. It was then the Sollers when to Shriners and they were able to diagnose him with Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy.

Fast forward to this year 2023, Koa was experiencing stomach pain in early January which prompted Krystel and Adrian to bring him in. The first couple of doctors diagnosed him with stomach flu. Ten days later, Koa still has symptoms, so they took him back to the pediatrician where there they did bloodwork and checked his appendix and gallbladder- it all came back normal. A few days shortly after, Krystel noticed his feet started to swell so then she took him back to Kapiolani, who sent him home with Lasix (Diuretics for swelling).

That Wednesday, Koa's home nurse came back and recommended they bring him back to the hospital and said he wasn't looking good and Koa was still experiencing stomach pain. They then took him back to Kapiolani and they said he was dehydrated and had low blood pressure. Kapiolani gave him two bags of Ivy and sent the Sollers back home. This is when Krystel reached out to a specialty team in California who then told her that Koa's heart needs to be checked. This was a turning point for the Ohana as they are now frustrated with all the misdiagnoses over the past couple of months. Koa boy's heart was at 12% heart failure and now its al 22%. More than ever before we need prayers!

The Sollers are awaiting their Medical flight out as you read this but are still trying to work and make ends meet as they prepare for the Trip for special medical attention at Stanford Hospital in California. Let's allow the family to spend as much time with their KOA BOY and not have them worry about this.
