Hi, my name is Tracy. One of my very best friends, Carissa Nunamaker Smith was in a horrific car accident Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She was coming home from work when a truck turned in front of her. Her car was totaled. It’s a miracle she survived. She has a compound fracture in her ankle and at least 6 broken ribs. She will be hospitalized for at least a week. Financial concerns are a worry as it is unknown how long she will be off of work. Carissa is the most dedicated volunteer I have ever known! She is selfless!! She is a life long resident of Brethren and I doubt there is a soul in this town who hasn’t benefited for her volunteering. Her commitment and love for this town is admirable. She does so many things behind the scenes no one even knows about. I do. And, I promise you the list is long. Please donate what you can to help her. Her vehicle will need to be replaced. She has a very long road of recovery. Bills will start rushing in. Let’s do what we can to ease her worries so she can properly recover. She has always been there for everyone else. A little bit from a lot of us will accomplish a lot. Small town, big family!!
