Let's Help the Negri's!

We found out recently that our friends, Dan and Dani Negri, are experiencing a crisis related to their house. While investigating some health issues with their children, they discovered a very serious mold issue. This mold in their house makes it unsafe to live in, particularly for their children, and needs to be completely eradicated for them to be able to stay. Here's how Dan and Dani describe their situation:

"The results of several inspections have all been more or less the same: that difficult-to-see mold has been quietly growing for quite a while, and by now has covered most every surface. Remediation will involve the removal (and either sanitization or throwing away) of everything in the basement, the treatment and scrubbing of every surface, re-painting each surface with mold-killing paint, and repairing some worse damage around the bathtub and sink. Installing/replacing vapor barriers throughout the basement and crawl space will help prevent the mold from returning. In the upstairs, there are some cabinets, drywall, and insulation that need to be removed and replaced, along with the removal/replacement of the sink, a new fan installed in the bathroom, and the possible re-setting of the bathtub."

Estimates for completing all of this work have ranged from $10,000-$15,000. They hope to get started as soon as the contractors are available, potentially as early as mid-January.

We would like to help ease this financial burden on the Negri's, but we need help from the community to make it possible! Any amount can help if enough of us come together! All donations will go directly to the Negri's to help them save their house.
