Please help the Naseeb family!

These 2 sweet children are part of the Naseeb family (along with mom, dad, and their other children).  They fled the violence in Syria and were relocated to San Diego earlier this year.  My family had the priveledge of meeting them on Thanksgiving when we delivered a holiday meal.  We were immediately struck by their warmth and selflessness.  Upon our arrival, they were concerned not about themselves but for the 3 other refugee families living in their complex and that their families would recieve meals.

I recently learned that one of their children was diagnosded with Autism.  They are working with local agencies with the help of volunteers from the Syrian community and Hearts4Refugees here in San Diego and believe the child has autism.

As a mother and a special education teacher, I feel compelled to help this family as much as I can.  After meeting with them at Thanksgiving, my family decided we would "adopt" them.  I met with Mr. Naseeb and their case manager last week.  We created a list of things their family needed.  Mr. Naseeb did not want to ask for anything for himself and his wife, only for their children and their home.  They have already endured such horrors and I can only imagine how scared and isolated they must feel.  It is our hope to develop a relationship with this family beyond the "adopt a family" campaign.

100% of the money from this campaign will go directly toward purchasing goods (toiletries, clothing, toys, and hopefully a computer) and paying for services for this family.  This campaign is coordinated with Heart4Refugees, a nonprofit organization based in San Diego that seeks to help the 1000 Syrian refugees who have been resettled here are supported during their transition to new lives in America.  (https://www.facebook.com/Heart4Refugees/?fref=nf)

I will not be giving funds directly to the family as Hearts4Refugees recommends against it.  Their guidelines strongly recommed that funds be used on the families behalf via the volunteer instead.  I will be purchasing houseware, clothing, toys, toiletries, groceries, and gifts for them and delivering them with the help of their case manager.

Here is their official list of requests that will be purchased:
Bikes for the children
Winter coats
Pajamas, socks, and underwear for the children
Clothing
Toys
Shoes, jeans, track suits for Adham
Christmas decorations (the kids would like Christmas lights and decorations so they can celebrate like Americans!)
Livingroom furniture

My name is Kelly Marshall and I am the mother to 2 sweet boys in San Diego .  I am a volunteer with the Hearts4Refugees  organization with is a part of the Syrian Community Network.  I am so grateful for the kindness and generosity of my family, friends, and community.  As the crisis in Syria continues to spiral downward, it is the least we can do to help those directly affected by the horrors of war.  Thank you for your consideration and please spread the word.
