Lori & Dave Mersereau Emergency Fundraiser

Hey folks, Dave Melyan here. As many of you may know, Big Dave Mersereau's wife, Lori Beck Mersereau was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2022 and she immediately had surgery and radiation. During routine exams this fall and into December it was determined that the cancer had returned and it was much larger and more aggressive. Lori went in for a Double Mastectomy on December 22nd. She was expected to be off work for an estimated 8-12 weeks. Lori also suffers from psoriatic arthritis, which is a very painful disease of the joints. While there is no cure there is medication treatments to help with the stiffness and pain. Unfortunately, to have surgery and follow up cancer treatments she has had to go off this medication for a prolonged period of time.

This past Tuesday (Jan 9th) one of the drain tubes became clogged causing a severe infection (Sepsis) in her chest and landing her in the ICU at Peace Health Hospital. She was taken in to another 3 1/2 hour surgery on Friday to clean and irrigate the wounds.

Due to this unplanned surgery, Lori may not be able to return to work as soon as expected.

To help Lori and Dave (who will be her full-time caregiver) get through this period we are asking for your assistance. This will greatly help relieve some of the stress of fighting this disease but also allow Dave to focus more of his time on attending to Lori's needs.
