Let’s help the Kuttner’s after Hurricane Ian

Hello. My name is Heather, a friend of Steve, Lisa and Lexi Kuttner. In August of 2021 the Kuttner’s left RI, the only home they knew, and relocated to Ft. Myers Florida to build a better life. They found an awesome apartment in a beautiful development, great jobs and Lexi took additional advanced coursework in high school that will allow her to graduate early.

On September 28, 2022 Hurricane Ian hit Ft Meyers and left an incredible amount of damage in its path. Trees first hit the Kuttner’s roof causing damage, before wind pulled the roof off completely. Sadly the destruction of their home continued as it was exposed to winds of up to 150 mph and heavy rains. The winds were so strong it blew out the outside wall of their apartment, allowing the contents of the master bedroom to be swept outside in the storm.

As of this morning, the Kuttner family find themselves without a home and almost everything they own has been completely destroyed. The whole Ft. Meyers area is in a complete state of emergency, with no hotels available. To further complicate this issue it is unclear when Lisa will be able to return to work as a school bus driver as the City works to determine when it is safe to reopen schools.

The Kuttner’s we’re always quick to help a friend in need and they now need help from all of us. Please consider donating so we can help to ease the burden of finding a new place place to live and all that comes with it.

100% of funds raised will be used by the Kuttner family to secure safe housing and purchase replacement items that was destroyed (beds, clothing, furniture, etc..)
