Dear friends of Mike and Jen
UPDATE:
First off, thank you for your continued generosity and support for Mike and Jen and the kids. We have met our initial goal, and are going to keep going... why? Well, as some of you may have seen, Jen wrote about their experiences and the ongoing financial challenges of finding acutely needed, actual mental health care for three kids in deep crises. Jen and Mike have been working with insurance and psychiatrists and therapists and physicians -- and the bills still dwarf the insurance coverage (or lack of accepted insurance, for many providers).
If you can continue to share and offer support please do so, and thank you again for all the help so far
Virginia and Melissa, on behalf of the Dominguez family.
We’re writing to ask for help on behalf of all the Dominguez crew.
Though not widely known for privacy’s sake, they’ve had a significant health crisis involving one of the kids. Mercifully, things are stabilizing, but the road ahead is long – for parents and children.
As most of you know, Mike and Jen are legendary for their ability to make things work and to care for themselves and others on a shoestring budget. And you also know, while first in line to support others, our beloved friends are absolutely terrible about asking for help – or accepting it when offered.
Which is why we’re reaching out. The financial burden from this is situation is terrible – and will be ongoing as the health needs of kids and parents are challenging in a system that doesn’t do well for anything but quick fix.
Many of you know Mike from his years as Currey Ingram Academy’s Theater Director, Founder of the Greater Nashville Theater Rock and Roll Camp, and Red House Imaginarium. For some of you, Mike’s impact on your children has been life-changing. Now, it is his own children who need our help.
We’re asking whatever financial support you can offer, to help the Dominguez crew through this time of deep disruption and ongoing need.
Remember when they were all this small?
