On Tuesday April 26, The Chessell's received news that their 10 year old Brock, had a tumor growing in his abdomen. They have now been told it is liver cancer. He has been diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma.
This is obviously shocking news to receive as a parent, and they are still processing it all. Brock has already gone through many tests/scans and a biopsy. His progress will change day to day. He started an aggressive Chemo treatment yesterday...which will last approx 16 weeks. He will be monitored closely as they have been told these aggressive chemo drugs are hard on his heart. This is going to be a long journey for the Chessells!
On top of Brocks news Chris was injured during a father/son basketball game and had extensive surgery last week repairing his torn patella.
As parents we should never have to watch our children go through such a
difficult time. Julie is taking time off work to care for her family and Chris is off work for at least 6 months. They shouldn't have to worry about work, bills, gas, food and parking. All they should have to worry and focus on is helping Brock beat this battle!!
