Wayne & Tawanna have been together for 8 years and married for 6 years come July 22, 2023, and they are at a point in their life that they could really use some help. Shortly after they moved in together, Tawanna started having severe stomach pains and feeling bad a good bit. So, she went to see her Dr. to find out that her feeling bad so much had to do with her sugar levels, which were staying on average between 600 to 700 and she had Diabetes. As far as the stomach issue is concerned, it took a couple years of going to diferent Dr.'s and Specialists for testing. They all took their guesses at what was wrong, but they couldn't figure it out for sure. They guessed everything
from acid reflux to crones. Tawanna Dr. told her that with her weight and Diabetes, that if she didn't have the gastric sleeve done that, she gave Tawanna about 3 years to live. So,Tawanna went and got it done and the Dr. that did it found a black spot on her stomach that he cut out while he was in there, because he said it was the beginning stages of stomach cancer. A year to year and a half went by and all seemed good. Then Tawanna started having pains again that she felt in her stomach and her back. After going to the emergency room, she found out that she was going to have her Gall Blader removed. So, she had that surgery done. After healing from that surgery, during a family night, Tawanna felt yet another pain in her stomach. This one hit her so hard that her husband (Wayne) saw it in her face. So she went back to her Dr., which told her that she now had a 2cm hernia on her gastric sleeve and the only way to fix that was to go back in surgery and have the to sleeve turned into the gastric bypass. She just had that surgery done in February of this year. During the time that Tawanna was dealing with all these issues, Wayne, which is a 2-branch service veteran from the Army and Navy Reserve Seabees, was dealing with issues of his own. Tawanna always told him that he needed to go the Dr., but he always told her that they have to get her better first. That's just the way he is with her. She is his world and his everything. Finally, she "made" him go see a Dr. and come to find out he was worse off than they had thought as well. When he finally went to see his Dr., she told him that he had Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Diverticulitis, Shin Splints, Restless Leg
Syndrome and set him up for a sleep study test which came back as him having sleep apnea. His Dr. also referred him to a Urologist, a Spin Specialist, a Psychiatrist, and eventually Pain Management Dr. He then was diagnosed from all of them with Low Testosterone, Erectile Dysfunction, Neuropathy, Tinnitus, ADD, Panic Attacks/PTSD/Severe Social Anxiety, Migraines, Depression, Ruptured/Herniated Disc L1-L5, Herniated S1 which are all in the lower back area, Hip Disc Deterioration, Degenerative Back Disease, and
Lower Lumbar Stenosis which is where the canal that the sciatica nerve travels through has closed in and is constantly pinching on the nerve. He continued to work through all of this until 2023 Mar 23, when the Spin Specialist told him not to work anymore until further testing can be done. That a wrong movement or slip or fall could likely paralyze him from the waist down. He takes medicine for all of this but must pay for some out of pocket. Since he has not worked since March, his wife got a job but it's nowhere near enough for just the necessities let alone all the bills.
Since the Dr. has told wayne to stay out of work until they can see what the extent of everything is, he has applied for Medicaid, Disability, and working with a V.A. office trying to get Veteran benefits. The process for all these things, as we all know, takes time to get all documents for them and takes even longer to get approved for it all. While Wayne and Tawanna are waiting on all of this, they are at risk of losing pretty much all that they have because the $300 she makes a week is just not covering it. They have been served with two suits already. They have thought about selling their house and getting a camper for them and the 2 kids that live at home with them, but now with the suits even if they did sell
it wouldn't leave enough to buy one after paying off the suits. The stress and pressure of being very close to losing everything is really taking its toll on them. Not to mention that the 15yr old has adhd and is also on the Autistic spectrum and the 12yr old is also add and both are on medication as well. Also, Tawanna at the moment, now has a torn meniscus in her knee and is out of work for a minimum of a week. I'm not sure what else that I can say. They just can't seem to catch a a break to get their heads above water.
