It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Olds, a member of our school family.  As a PS 34 parent, John was a strong supporter of our entire school community and was well loved by all who knew him.  John was an amazing and devoted partner and father.  He was a true mentor and used his barber shop to provide a safe space for others to learn how to cut hair.  John also provided free haircuts and meals to kids to lift their spirits, while helping out their parents who struggled to make ends meet.  He was an asset to every community that he touched.  John leaves behind his partner, Tracy Gaymes, and four children, Ella and Ethan (current PS 34 students), Sophia and Shanequa.  Our thoughts are with Tracy and the rest of the family during this difficult time.

This Go Fund Me was created to extend our love and support to the Olds family during this time of bereavement and beyond, and in honor of John Olds.
