Campaign description:

My name is Ajla Nukić Balagić, I come from Ključ, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This campaign is for my father, who has been fighting a difficult battle against kidney cancer with bone meta-stasis for five years.

My father is a disabled war veteran, twice wounded in the war, today he works as a police officer, but due to illness he is mostly on sick leave.

He had his first surgery in 2019 at a hospital in Bihać – then his kidney was removed due to a tumor. Unfortunately, the disease returned after only six months, and a second surgery followed.

Soon after we found out that the disease was spreading rapidly, we decided to take him for checkups in Turkey, where he was diagnosed with bone meta-stasis. Since then, he has been treated with radiotherapy and oral chemotherapy (tablets that he takes himself).

This therapy is not available for free in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is not on the list at the Federal Institute, which means that we have been paying for every medicine, every control, every therapy ourselves for five years.

Up until now, we have financed everything ourselves - we got into debt, took out loans, exhausted all possibilities. Unfortunately, the situation is now such that we can no longer do it alone.

That's why I'm addressing people with a good heart in this way. If you can donate, even symbolically, help my father continue his treatment. Every euro goes exclusively to:

• therapies purchased at the pharmacy,

• controls and filming abroad,

• radiotherapy and necessary painkillers,

• travel and accommodation costs in Turkey.

We have complete medical documentation, therapy bills and everything needed for confirmation.
