Help Support Kiah’s ALS Treatments
Donation protected
Dearest family, friends, and community,
As many of you know, Kiah, our 34-year-old beautiful, wild, and kind friend, was diagnosed with ALS last November.
ALS is a neurological disease that weakens muscles and impacts physical function, eventually leading to paralysis. The cause is unknown. The main symptom is muscle weakness. Medication and therapy can slow ALS and reduce discomfort, but there's no cure.
Although this has been an extremely heavy year, so much beauty has sprouted around them. This summer, Kiah and her partner Ryan got married, they moved into their own house, and are now expecting a little boy at the end of February.
As the anniversary of Kiah’s diagnosis approaches, I would like to set up an opportunity for all of us to help relieve a fraction of the burden that comes with paying out-of-pocket for monthly treatments. These treatments are proven to help alleviate symptoms and slow progression, but health insurance does not cover them. Not only are the treatments well over $600 a month, but Kiah is starting maternity leave soon to fully embrace motherhood.
Please consider helping our favorite first-time parents spend this magical, much-needed time soaking up all the snuggles and love with the least amount of added stress. No donation is too small, and one share could generate ten donations. Life is hard in general; let’s come together and make sure they feel supported and held by this amazing group of humans that love them so much.
Thank you.
