My name is Shenitha (Umm Siddiq) and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my beloved friend, Sister Aminah (Umm Hamzah). Over the past twelve years of knowing Aminah, I have been privileged to witness her kind and selfless spirit, never hesitating to help anyone in need despite battling major health struggles and living in a home that is slowly killing her.

Sister Aminah’s home unfortunately has serious environmental issues, including dangerously high levels of radon and mold, which jeapordize her health daily and cause an increased risk of her developing lung cancer. Having already overcome cancer, Sister Aminah suffers from severe asthma, allergies, and COPD. These toxic pollutants cause her to feel ill in her home with her constantly coughing and managing repeated asthma flare-ups. If left unchecked, I fear the condition of her home will cause a sharp deterioration in her health and perhaps even worse. For a woman who is a pillar in our community, a mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God Almighty, my hope is that we can rally and help relieve this burden on her.

Your donation will help Sister Aminah pay for:

• professional elimination of all mold, radon, and other dangerous pollutants in her home

• essential repairs to keeps these pollutants out including:

• sealing foundation cracks

• installing a sump pump,

professional grade air purifier

and a wall vapor barrier

• repair a leaking and damaged hot

water tank that contributes to

moisture in her basement

The quoted cost for these repairs and mitigation is over $30,000. Sister Aminah and her family are working overtime to cover this expense on top of their normal obligations. Please help by donating.
