Hello Friends & Relatives,

We are writing on behalf of our dear friend & relative, Shawna McClure Secretary to Descendants of the Earth non-profit. First, we would like to share a little about Shawna. Many of you know Shawna as a long-time community member and participant in our circle. Though not as many know that she has been a dedicated helper behind the scenes for many many (26!) years.

While our humble nonprofit has grown and we have continued to make great strides in improvements to the land, Descendants has never been so big to have afforded the ability to have paid positions. Though the officers of our nonprofit have always held their positions and done what they can (which at times is a lot) to keep our non-profit up and running, they like ourselves, do not receive any payment for this work.

So with that, we are reaching out on behalf of our dear one Shawna to help get her out of a dire financial situation that will keep her and her daughter housed and allow her to recover from the pandemic. Shawna is a massage therapist, a good one. During the pandemic, her many regular clients bought several gift certificates to help cover her during the non-working times, which was wonderful and helped get her through, Though now those certificates are being redeemed at a rate that she hasn’t been able to actually earn.

In addition to that, one of her daughters has also had to have a lot of doctor visits as she figures out some ongoing health issues, which has taken her away from work frequently. While we are aware there are quite a few of us that took hits during the pandemic and many that are still recovering from various challenges that covid brought to our lives. We are reaching out for one who would not ever do this for herself.

She had most recently been considering sacrificing her car to cover rent. She has exhausted all other avenues for increased cash flow and we appreciate any amount of contribution you can make towards allowing her to keep her car and home stable.
