Hi!

I’m Niamh, I’m the owner of a curly hair salon in the U.K. I became a hairdresser to provide for my children. I love educating and training other hairdressers how to take care of natural curly hair so that their clients have happy healthy curls everyday. In May 2025 I have the honour of volunteering for Schwarzkopf Shaping Futures, as part of the cutting education team. Shaping Futures’ mission is to help socially disadvantaged young adults fulfil their potential and improve their future by teaching them the craft of hairdressing. Every student is trained in a suitable and safe learning environment, Shaping Futures can be a real lifeline, helping students take the first invaluable step towards a professional career.

The skill of hairdressing offers young people the chance to create their own opportunities by instilling self worth and independence.

The young people taking part in the Shaping Futures programme will be given the fundamental training to set them on the path for a career in hairdressing, fulfilling creativity, freedom and self worth.

The money raised will mean these young people will be able to have a safe working environment where they will receive high quality education and introduction to hairdressing for free
