Let's help Sara beat cancer!

My sister-in-law, Sara Fugate, was recently diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer – a rare form of breast cancer that occurs in only about 10-15% of all breast cancer cases. While any cancer diagnosis is devastating, this specific type limits the treatment options available.

After losing her mom to cancer in 2003, Sara dedicated herself to researching and understanding all aspects of cancer; the impact of health and wellness, the disease itself, traditional vs. alternative treatment options, etc. Because of her vast research, Sara has been able to incorporate her knowledge and understanding into conversations with her doctors and advocate for a treatment plan that is right for her.

Sara has found an alternative cancer treatment facility that truly embraces all that is important to her, with doctors who are focused on overall well-being and patient involvement in treatment planning. Unfortunately, this treatment option is out-of-network, and therefore not covered by insurance.

I am creating this gofundme on behalf of my sister-in-law, with the goal being to raise enough money to help cover medical expenses up to and following her time at the treatment center, the treatment program, and the associated travel/living expenses.

Sara is one of the most amazing humans I have ever met. She is a dedicated mother to Brooke (17) and Braden (13), a supportive wife, a rockstar sister, and the most selfless and caring friend. She would do anything for anyone, and I for one am SUPER grateful that she is always just a phone call away.
