Dear friends,

I come to you today with a heartfelt plea on behalf of someone very dear to us all: Sandy. If there's one person who embodies the essence of selflessness, it's her. Sandy has dedicated her life to lifting others up, quietly weaving threads of kindness into our community without ever seeking recognition or reward.

Yet, behind her radiant smile lies a story of quiet struggle. Last year, Sandy received the devastating news of a serious cancer diagnosis. Despite the weight of this burden, she faced it the only way she knows how: courage and determination. She said to me once, "I'm just getting started [in life], I'm not done here yet and I won't let this define me." And true to her warrior spirit, she fought tirelessly, undergoing numerous procedures and surgeries, with the unwavering support of her life partner George.

Today, I'm thrilled to share that Sandy has gotten the upper hand on this cancer and with ongoing treatments, chances are good that she will eventually become cancer free. But her battle is far from over. She requires on going medical treatments that are not covered by our medical system. The toll it has already taken on her, both emotionally and financially, is immense. With unpaid time off work and the burden of uncovered medical expenses, she now finds herself struggling to make ends meet, let alone afford the ongoing treatments that are crucial for her health.

This is where our community has the opportunity to demonstrate our love and compassion. It's time for us to rally around Sandy, just as she has done for each of us in our times of need. Let's show her the love and support she deserves, helping to ease her financial burdens and to make sure she can access the care she needs to thrive.

Together, we can make an undeniable difference. Through our generosity, we can show Sandy just how much her countless acts of kindness mean to us and our community. Let's come together and be the light that guides her through this challenging chapter of her life.
