Update from the family:

On February 27th @ 1:11pm Sandy joined her daughter Lisa in heaven. She was surrounded by family and left us peacefully, just as she wanted. Her family would like to thank everyone who has sent well wishes. Our community’s support and love is what Sandy appreciated so much about living in a small town. Services for Sandy will be announced at a later date.

My name is Danelle Keeton, I am a family friend of Earl (Cooter) and Sandy Preffer. I am reaching out during this time of need for the two of them and their family. As some of you know Sandy became ill and went into the hospital on February 7th with COVID like symptoms where she stayed until last Tuesday, 2/18 in which she was flown down to Alta Bates Summit Medical Center i n Oakland CA where she remains on a ventilator. She has been diagnosed with COVID, Pneumonia and ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome aka Wet Lung) where she remains stable. Cooter and her family are staying by her side as much as they can and it is taking a financial toll on them.
