My brother Ryan was in a bad car accident last winter that resulted in two fractured vertebrae (L3 + L4) and a few weeks in pain with limited mobility. While he recovered for the most part, he rushed his recovery to get back to work and has recently reinjured the same part of his back fracturing yet another vertebra (L1). He currently cannot walk without a walker, has to wear a full body brace most of the time and needs help with simple day-to-day tasks. It's expected that he will be out of work for the next 12 weeks or so and it's unclear whether or not his job will take him back when he is able to go back. Unfortunately, Ryan's disability payments expired after the initial accident so he has zero income during this time.

All funds received will go towards monthly living expenses (around $3000/m) and over $2000 in medical bills that his insurance won't cover (which will likely grow as therapies are needed for recovery).

Ryan has worked at the same job for the past 12 or so years as an incredibly hard-working and reliable person (as we all know him to be!) and the fact that he needs to worry about having a job after being there so long is outrageous. I hope that with our powers combined we can help ease some of the financial stress for Ry so that he can heal properly and if necessary use some of this downtime to explore a better work alternative.
