Let's help Ruby Doo ♥️

Hi, my name is Rachel and one of my beautiful friends Ruby (16 years old) and her wonderful family are having a tough time.

Ruby was born with An array of medical issues and diagnosis including mitochondrial DNA depletion, autism, Cardiofaciocutaneous- CFC Syndrome, stunted growth, scoliosis, congenital issues, craniofacial disorder, to name a few...

Ruby is wheelchair bound and requires care 24hrs around the clock. Ruby has some amazing carers however, obviously, when Ruby is unwell the 24 hour care falls back onto her parents, having to take time off work to do so.

As you can imagine this alone puts stress on Ruby's beautiful, caring and supportive family, let alone the stress concern and heartache of watching their beautiful daughter endure surgery after surgery.

recently Ruby has endured many surgeries with Ruby's parents having to head to Sydney Children's Hospital and Westmead Children's Hospital every time Ruby requires intervention as her diagnosis and health issues are very complicated.

late last year, Ruby and her family were in Sydney for months dealing with surgeries and have just been told they need to head back down for further surgeries and interventions. This will take Ruby's beautiful parents Mick and Virginia away from their employment and away from their home and their other two children..

having spent most part of the year on and off in Sydney in 2024, you can imagine sick leave /carers leave etc. eventually dries up.

Mick and Virginia never complain. They love Ruby and they will do anything they need to do for their beautiful child and children.

I am asking for donations no matter how big or small, understanding that times are tough for everyone, just to give Ruby and her family a little less to worry about, as chronic disease and disability can impact families in many ways.

Mick and Virginia have been trying to renovate amongst all of this to enable Ruby to move more freely and safely throughout their home, the renovations have now been put on hold due to financial and emotional distress.
