Let's Help Rebuilding my brother - A innocent leader's house

My name is Peshal Kumar Dhakal. I am originally from Kavrepalanchok, Nepal, and currently living in Middle Village, Queens, New York City. Today am writing with a heavy heart about what my dearest brother-in-law, Mr. Bhim Neupane (67 years old), the former Mayor of Panauti Municipality in Nepal, has suffered.

Bhim dai has lived his entire life in service to others. As a leader and social worker, he stood by the marginalized, devoting his energy to the community and never asking for anything in return. Even as mayor, he lived a humble and simple life, never misusing his position, and always putting people first. After completing his tenure, he supported his family through buffalo farming and selling milk, opting for a life of honesty and simplicity over comfort.

But now, his lifelong sacrifice has been met with unimaginable tragedy.

On 2082 Bhadra 24 (September 9, 2025), during the recent Gen-Z protests in Nepal, in the name of Gen-Z, a violent group set fire to his home and his son’s home. What was once a shelter of love and memories, built brick by brick with decades of effort, was reduced to ashes in just moments. All the family’s belongings and keepsakes are gone, leaving only the clothes that they have worn.

Despite this unbearable loss, Bhim Dai has faced it with quiet strength. He has not spoken of anger or revenge, only resilience, showing the same dignity and humility he carried throughout his life of service.

Now, the man who was always there for everyone in their hardest times needs us. The house and property that was burned up that night was the only thing that was with to him, and now he has nothing to cover this loss.

This fundraiser is to help rebuild Bhim dai’s home and restore his family’s dignity. Any support, no matter how small, will bring light back into this dark moment and remind him that his lifetime of honesty, kindness, and service has not been forgotten.

Let us come together to show that compassion and solidarity are stronger than destruction.

From the bottom of my heart—thank you for standing with him.

Furthermore, I will make a promise that the Funds that are collected will be given to Bhim dai and make sure that it is utilized properly.
