Let's Help Rebeca Oquendo Recover Her Health
Rebeca Oquendo, a former professional bodybuilding athlete and pioneer in the NPC and IFBB bikini class in the U.S., is now facing a major challenge. After years dedicated to sports and training professional athletes, her life took an unexpected turn.
In 2014, in an attempt to improve her physical appearance following judges' suggestions, Rebeca received hyaluronic acid injections in Miami. However, she was deceived, and these injections contained highly toxic biopolymers without her knowledge, leading to multiple health problems. After years of battling bewildering symptoms and various diagnoses, doctors identified the root of the problem: ASIA Syndrome, caused by the injected biopolymers.
Today, Rebeca lives with constant pain and severe limitations, deeply affecting her life and that of her children, Mia and Sebastian. To recover her health, she needs to undergo specialized surgery to remove the biopolymers, an expensive and urgent operation due to the condition of her liver and kidneys.
Her Hope: A Vital Surgery in Venezuela, followed by treatment and possibly other minor surgeries
The goal of this campaign is to raise funds for Rebeca to travel to Venezuela, where she has identified a specialist willing to perform the surgery at a lower cost compared to other options. The costs are high, and currently, Rebeca does not have the financial means to face them.
Your Contribution Makes a Difference
Every contribution, large or small, is a step towards Rebeca's recovery. The goal is to raise $25,000 to cover medical and travel expenses. This operation is not only crucial for eliminating the life-threatening biopolymers but also for improving her quality of life in all aspects: motor, neurological, psychological, professional, and social.
