Hi, my name is Susie and on behalf of Phil Powell’s close friends, John Teasdale, JC, Chester, Allan Downs, Simon Wellington, Neil Armour, to name just a few, we have organized this Go Fund Me to help our long time friend in this difficult time.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Phil was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 liver AND pancreatic cancer.

We know how tough of a man he is, a strong and proud Englishman who was a member of the 2nd Battalion for The Royal Fusiliers for over 14 years! He joined when he was a young man and still continues to boast proudly of his time in the regiment and all of his fellow soldiers.

Phil moved to LA 31 years ago and is now not only a proud Father, but also now a Grandfather to 2 beautiful Grandkids.

Phil who has many nicknames aka Sargeant Phil or his love of his hometown and football team Manchester Phil. He has been a part of our ex-Pat community since arriving and has definitely left his mark. Loves nothing more than telling tall tales, to make you laugh and of course having the odd pint with the lads down the pub!

He also came to LA with Hollywood eyes. He ended up working as a grip here in the movie and TV industry for over 20 years. A job that he loved and loved nothing more than  to share his stories of meeting ‘celebs’ and having his pic taken with them. His stories will keep you entertained for hours.

At this point he has entered palliative care and is currently living in Texas. We are all hoping that together as a community, we again can help one of our fellow friends in need.

The funds raised will be to help with his monthly bills, medical expenses and whatever else he needs to ease this next, difficult chapter of his life.

Being able to visit his kids and Grandchildren, or for them to visit him. 

His future is uncertain at the moment and all we can do is hope and pray for him and what will be probably the hardest battle of his life!
