Hello friends of Richie and Ita, my name is Nancy, I know they would never ask, so I am going to! Let's help raise some money to help with Pacha's large vet bill.

Pacha suffered a comminuted fracture on her femur on Sunday morning. She also has a deep laceration from her hip down to her knee. The emergency vet initially diagnosed her with a laceration and bone bruise. However, following an x-ray, they found that her femur was completely shattered. The recommendation from the vets and surgeons was to amputate Pacha's leg. Due to the potential for infection and other complications, it is too risky to save Pacha's leg. The medical staff have been amazing at explaining the risks and/or advantages of each surgical option. Richie and Ita are still in shock that this is the best course of action. At the end of the day, they had to decide what was best for Pacha's health and happiness.

So they asked the surgeon to proceed with the amputation. Dogs are incredibly resilient and adaptable. Richie and Ita have been assured that Pacha will be able to live a great life with 3 legs.
