So let me tell you a story about a guy with a great big heart and who will go out of his way to help anyone. His name is Nordean and he's a friend to many. Luck, as it sometimes happens, has not been on his side this year when he was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer - Urachal cancer that requires the immediate removal of his bladder and the cancerous tissue.

Urachal cancer is a very rare type of cancer arising from the urachus or its remnants. (The connecting tissue from a mother to baby in utero) It occurs in roughly about one person per 1 million people per year varying on the geographical region. Men are affected slightly more often than women mostly in the 5th decade of life but the disease can occur in also in other age groups.

To quote his amazing wife Shari 'Nordean quite literally is one in a million'.

He's going in for surgery on the 16th of October and we want to raise some money to assist him in his recovery when out of ICU and home to allow Shari to take some time off work to assist in his care, cover the gaps in the surgery and hopefully, if we can raise enough money- get them to a sunny place to enjoy each other's company as they focus on their future together- cancer free.
