Let’s help our girl!

Hey guys! I have been wanting to do this for Stephanie and her kids for a while now but as most of you know she is stubborn and doesn’t ask for help or really like help… she’s a pain that way. Most of you don’t know but a year ago Stephanie caught covid. A few weeks later she had a checkup with her Dr and they did some blood work. The results were devastating and her world stopped spinning. Since the diagnosis she has undergone 4 major surgeries and 2 minor. This diagnosis forced her into leaving the medical program she was in that would lead her to her dream of working in the OR. She has spent many, many days in the hospital and built up quite the collection of medical debt. Who knows how much in gas and prescriptions going back and forth and then she has 2 children and I watch her constantly put their needs first.

When I think of Stephanie I think of how many holidays I watched her go out and fill up 2 shopping carts of food to give families everything they needed to have a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal. I see the Stephanie that found out kids in her daughters class didn’t have the money for a field trip or class trip and she paid it for them. I see the Stephanie that has rushed to my house at 3 am to stay with Dawson while I took Brantley to the ER for an asthma attack. The Stephanie that has supported every fundraiser my kids have ever asked her to buy! I see the Stephanie that would give the shirt off her back to help someone. I see the Stephanie that always puts herself and her needs last. I think it’s time we help her put herself first.

She doesn’t know how much longer this journey is going to last and can’t even fathom the financial toll this will continue to take.
