Lets Help our friend Tierney

Hi. This is Danielle and Shannon and we are fundraising for our dear friend Tierney, who recently has lost her beloved spouse Paul.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Paul Harry suddenly on June 23, 2021. Paul was a compassionate and kind human who had the most infectious smile that could light up even the darkest of rooms. He was a kind soul with a heart of gold, and he never hesitated to be there for any of his friends. Paul leaves behind the love of his life Tierney, his mother Darlene, his sisters Shelly and Mae Ann, his brothers Kris Dean and Darren, sister-in-law Emma and his niece Meredith.

The first time Tierney spotted Paul was in 1988 at Brighouse Elementary School, sitting on his BMX with Greg Stoddart. She couldn’t take her eyes off him. Ten years later at a party in 1998, she saw him, and again couldn’t redirect her gaze. It would take another 2 years for them to finally be together, in which they spent happily enjoying each other’s company, making memories while being young and in love.

In 2006, Tierney and Paul moved to Brooks, Alberta after Paul received a job opportunity in the oil and gas industry. Paul was extremely hard working and was quickly promoted to Rig Manager - now based out of Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. Together, Paul and Tierney moved to Saskatchewan to continue their story. Tierney landed her first role in healthcare, and they became first time homeowners. After ten years of living a quiet, idyllic life in Gull Lake - the oil and gas industry took a hit. Paul lost his job in December 2019, just shy of the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. An opportunity came for them to rent out their home, so Paul and Tierney made the move to Calgary in April 2020. Tierney decided she would help to fight the pandemic with her background in healthcare and joined the Covid Crisis Response Team. The stress of this new role in combination with the relocation to a new city was difficult. Being so habituated to leaning on one another for support, it was nothing they couldn’t handle together.

Many have reached out to ask how you can help during this difficult time. Tierney’s family has supported her to move home to BC. Paul has always been Tierney’s rock, her family, her everything. We have started this GoFundMe to help alleviate some of the finances associated, so that Tierney can move forward in her new life in BC, surrounded by her family and friends. Please know that your kindness is much appreciated as we navigate this heartbreaking loss.
