Let’s help our Brother who always helped others!

Brother John Trembczynski, a dedicated engineer, has displayed unwavering loyalty to UTU/SMART throughout his career. He's not only a U.S. Navy veteran who enlisted right after high school in 1984, earning an honorable discharge, but also a former mixed martial arts fighter who embodies the spirit of never giving up. He joined Chicago Rail Link in 1989 and eventually became the local president of 1299 before transitioning to Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad Company in 1995. Brother Trembczynski's remarkable journey includes three terms as local president for local 1381 from 2005 to 2017, in addition to serving as Vice Local Chairperson of LCA 623/IHB.

Unfortunately, in September 2022, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer, and in April 2023, he underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor. Despite his immense strength and fighting spirit, the cancer has now spread to his lungs and other organs, forcing him into early retirement. John Trembczynski, a man who never asks for help and is always ready to support others, needs our assistance during this difficult time. Let's rally together to provide the support he so rightfully deserves.
