This is Neil’s story….

The last few weeks have been insane.

Thanks to everyone who has been checking up on us. I appreciate you all so much.

I have cancer.

Some people may know bits and pieces of what is going on but here is a list of how my cancer fight began..

Since Labor Day life has changed abruptly for Hannah & I...

It started as a rush to the emergency room at 2am on Labor day..

Followed by another ER visit at 10am on Tuesday

Followed by a specialist appointment on Thursday 9/8; where we found out I'd need surgery to remove cancer. No worries though 95% of testicular cancer is cured with removal of the cancer.

I had this surgery on Wednesday 9/14

Then on Wednesday 9/21 I had a follow up with the results from pathology. Here we found out I do not have the generic 95% curable cancer. Instead we found out I have pure cell testicular choriocarcinoma, which is very aggressive and comes with a 25% mortality rate after 3 years. We scheduled a bunch more tests and scans along with appointments at the cancer center. Before we left the clinic I had all of my labs completed.

Today I woke up thinking I'd just have my CT Scans done later. This is my new normal it seems; each day its supposed to be a test or appointment but then more bad news.

I just recieved results from my lab work on Wednesday. My cancer markers have elevated further since my surgery. They told me this means my cancer is spreading rapidly.

This was not the news we were hoping for.

Here is to hoping the scans prove helpful in the next stage of this fight.
