In January 2023, Michelle was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She fought bravely through her treatments, which included chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, radiation, and numerous medications and appointments. Michelle courageously shared her journey with those around her and on social media, inspiring many as she faced her challenges head-on. Despite the difficulties, Michelle remained determined to overcome her illness and return to her normal life with her work, friends, family, and her children, Sophia and Noah.

Unfortunately, even after all her efforts, the cancer spread and Michelle received the devastating news that it is metastatic and spread to her liver. She is receiving treatment, but unfortunately there is no cure.

Michelle is a woman who gives her all in everything she does. Her energy is exuberant, and she can light up any room she enters. She is hardworking, determined, caring, accepting, creative, devoted, and passionate. Michelle has made a positive impact on the lives of countless students, teachers and the community through her love for the arts and her unique ability to connect with people. Her photography is brilliant, capturing moments that will be cherished by many for years to come. Michelle is an amazing sister, daughter, mother, girlfriend, teacher, and friend.

Michelle is an incredible woman who has faced many challenges with courage and determination. Despite her recent diagnosis, she remains a beacon of hope and inspiration to those around her. Michelle is currently on long-term disability and unsure if she will be able to return to work. By easing her financial worries, we can give her the opportunity to create lasting memories with her family and experience all that life has to offer.
