Lets help Merrilyn !

There’s a lot of you out there that know merrilyn and a lot of you that may not .

Merrilyn has worked at the RSPCA for 7 years , in her time there she has fostered 80 dogs/ puppies , 37 rabbits , 2 kittens and 1 goat :)

She is one amazing and incredible human !

From being made redundant during these tough times to rushing her poodle Darcy to ARH (Animal Referral Hospital ) then a few days later also losing one of her other poodles over the rainbow bridge . She’s one tough woman and never asks for help !

I’m setting up this fundraising to help Merrilyn due to her recent trip with Darcy to ARH . It’s crazy to think how one can be perfectly healthy going to bed then a few hours later not being able to walk and being basically paralysed. With this happening merrilyn knew she had to act quickly and rushed Darcy to ARH where they monitored him for the first night and the next day had an MRI which showed he had a buldging Disc at T12/T13 and had an operation to try help him .

He has had a catheder to assist him with his bladder , being there nearly a week they’ve finally taken the catheder out and waiting to see if he can go to the toilet on his own which at the moment he is still struggling with and may need assistance with this for the long road ahead that awaits . He has slowly gained a bit of movement back in his back left leg but still has no movement in the back right leg.

update : Darcy Update. 26/8 I got to see my little man tonight. It was so lovely to be reunited He can stand and they walk him by holding on to his powder puff tail. He is still quite weak on his right hind leg but can balance with it for a few seconds then he starts to wobble. He still cant control his bladder and dribbles. They hoped my visit would get him going in that department. It may mean I might have to learn to Express his bladder for a while and he may need to wear a belly band. I could have taken him home tonight to see if he could pee at home but if he couldnt I would have to bring him back first thing tomorrow. I chose to leave him there as I didnt want to bring him home and then dump him back the next morning. I can also update this as we know more and when he will finally be allowed home .

We all know vets are quite expensive his bill has now reached $15000 and all are willing to do whatever it takes to help our furry friends! Merrilyn has always put other people and her furry friends before herself and for this I’d like to show she’s not alone through this tough road ahead and would love to take a bit of weight of her shoulders !!!

Times are tough for everyone with what’s happening out in the world today so if you can’t donate we completely understand , but any amount will help her out as her vet bill is
Not going to be small one !!

Thankyou in advance for helping a great cause!
