Let's Help Mason Fight Cancer

Donation protected
Hi My name is Shannon and I'm putting together this fundraiser for my best friends Ginger & Aaron Hargrove. Their son Mason was diagnosed with medulloblastoma on February 1, 2022. He has a long hard fight ahead of him and there will be weeks at a time that they will be traveling over 4 hours one way for treatments. Let me now tell their story for you all to hear.

Approximately 2 weeks ago Mason started getting severe headaches with vomiting. They were so painful they kept him home from school and warranted a trip to the ER. After the 3rd trip to the hospital the Dr did a CT scan and found a mass on the back of Masons brain. Two days later they were at UK hospital in Lexington for brain surgery.

Mason had brain surgery on February 2, 2022 to remove the tumor which was found to be malignant (cancer). The Dr's are guessing the tumor has been there for about 2-3 months and it's extremely aggressive. Due to the location of the tumor it has affected Masons speech and motor skills. He has to learn how to talk, walk, sit, eat, etc all over again. He will continue getting rehab therapy to help with all of this on top of having to start aggressive radiation and chemotherapy immediately.

Doctors have given Ginger & Aaron two options for treatment. One is in Lexington, which is 2 hours from his home and the other in Cincinnati, which is 4 hours away from his home. They have opted for Cincinnati because the treatment is more precise and they feel he had a better shot of survival. Mason is covered under insurance for a percentage of his medical costs. Not all of it will be covered. Also, his mom or dad will be with him during treatments which can be up to 6 weeks at a time and they will last for 11 months. Gas, food, lodging, extras will have to come out of pocket and the only one working is Aaron. Ginger will not be able to work as she will be with Mason every step of the way and they shouldn't have to worry about how their going to do it all. Instead they should only have to worry about focusing on their precious son.

Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated and sharing this fundraiser will help them as well. Thank you to everyone for reading and please keep the Hargroves in your thoughts and prayers
