Let’s Help Martine
Donation protected
I decided to help my friend Martine and her husband Jean-Pierre after a succession of misfortunes, the last one being the bushfire raging around Yeppoon where they live.
They have been married for 40 years, have 3 lovely girls and 11 grand children. Martine would never ask for help, but when I called her yesterday and realised they had been evacuated to a community shelter leaving behind their house and a horse surrounded by bushfires, then later on her husband had to be transported to hospital battling against cancer, I thought this was already too much to take. How much stress someone can handle! This was not all. After digging deeper, Martine admitted that she would have to go back to work this week (she is working in a nursing home as a nurse assistant) because she was the sole provider and she ran out of sick leave for helping her ill husband.
If you feel touched by Martine’s story and wish to help me raise some money so she can provide care for her husband and be around him during these difficult times, then join me. As little as $5 can help. As we say in the Caribbean ‘grain di ri ka fè sac’, ‘grains of rice make bags of rice’.
Your help will be so valuable,
Patricia
