Let's Help Lyudmila Rebuild Her Roof

Hi everyone,

My name is Liliya and I'm starting this fundraiser to help my life long friend Lyudmila from Irpin, Ukraine to help rebuild the roof of her house that was completely destroyed by the russian aggression in Ukraine.

You probably have heard about Irpin, Bucha and Hostomel already - the Kyiv suburbs where russians tried to get through to Kyiv. There has been so much destruction and atrocities.

Lyudmila and her son have recently returned to Irpin to find their house mostly destroyed, but the walls remain in tact. The house is not liveable and they are currently living with her parents. In the meantime, she is hoping to fix the roof by fall, to at least put cover on whatever is left to prevent further damage.

She also has initiated the process with the local authorities, but was advised to do whatever she can on her own as there will be no payouts until after the war is over. And nobody knows when that will be. So, the roof is the top priority.

Lyudmila and I have been friends since we were 7 yrs old and she is one of my sisters. It's one of those friendships that no matter the distance, it always feels like home.
