Let's Help Lou Shepherd and family

Lou Shepherd.....we all LOVE Lou Shepherd.  Everyone that meets Lou loves him.  He is the cool guy, the all star sports player that was friends with everyone.  He would make any person feel like a million bucks.  He never treats anyone different and just has a huge heart.  Well, for the last few years he has been through a lot.  A LOT more than he ever shares with us.  He has had two kidney transplants.  The second one was almost 2 years ago and his body is accepting it well however they also found he had some cancer so is now undergoing chemo every other week.  His poor body's immune system is working extra hard.  Thank God Lou has always been in amazing shape.  He is a fighter and he will overcome this with the power of prayer and the awesomness of modern medicince.  Amy (Baldwin) his precious wife is working, being a mom of 3, Lou's sole caretaker, and trying to make everyone feel like everything is normal. But can you imagine the medical bills alone on 2 transplants and chemo?  Amy is a care assistant at Children's Mercy (yes she again is taking care of others) and works overnights so she can be with the family as much as possible.  No, I don't think she ever sleeps!   The Shepherds are extremely humble and private.  They would never ask for help but it is time we step in before they need to ask.  All 3 of thier children inherited the talents of their parents and are involved in sports and loved by their peers.  Darrius is playing college football at North Dakota State,and is one of the team captains.  Cheyenne is following in her momma's footsteps and is a cheerleader at Blue Springs and Xavier although he has the talent at this time is using it for gaming!  As you know Amy and Lou try not to miss any of these activities but with work and doctors appointments it makes it hard.  I would love to raise enough money that Amy would be able to take off work when needed and not have to worry how the bills will get paid.  If we all just contribute $5-$10 it would make a HUGE difference.  They have so many friends and have touched so many lives.  Please consider giving and please pass along to anyone you think might want to help.  And most importantly please keep the Shepherd family in your prayers.
