Let's help Lorinda stay housed while she heals

Hello friends, family, and community. My name is Darlene Kupfer, and I am Lorinda Howard’s cousin. Lorinda is a mom of three grown daughters, and a grandmother of two precious grandchildren.
Lorinda was walking to the store on a Friday afternoon in late January, when she was struck by a car and flipped into the air, landing violently on the pavement. She suffered a fractured jaw, a broken pelvis, a fractured left shoulder, and a shattered right shoulder. She is in a constant and high level of pain, but by the grace of God, there is no brain damage.
This unfortunate accident, on top of battling cirrhosis has crippled Lorinda in so many ways. She is having nightmares of the accident and experiencing PTSD. Because of the broken pelvis and both shoulders, surgery is not an option; and she will have to manage the pain while rehabbing in a facility.
Lorinda has been sober since October 2022, has made many lifestyle changes to prioritize her health, and has learned to eat a diet that is favorable to her liver. She is grateful every day for the second chance she has been given in life and the ability to be present for her daughters and grandchildren. Due to her cirrhosis, the cognitive impacts of the disease and the medications she is required to take, she has not been able to work and is currently waiting to be approved for social security disability. As you can imagine, being hit by a car was the last thing she needed.
Right now, she needs help to pay basic living expenses; rent and utilities. It is important that she knows she has a home to return to once she is healed and has the ability to live on her own again; and the stress of losing her apartment is not conducive to her physical and emotional healing.
I know times are tough for so many of us right now and any financial support you can provide will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please share to help spread the word. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and thank you to anyone who can donate.
