This is what 2 of the most important people in Liz’s life had to say about Liz:
From her son, Garrett Palmer Messineo:
"My mom is a dreamer. I know she isn't even close to completing all she wants to do but if I had to speak for her I would say that her greatest achievement that she holds dear would be her relationship with God, above all else as well as raising me, her handbag company, and most definitely her completion and tenacity to go back to school.

My mom is also passionate. She longs to be loved because she gives it all away. She is so tenacious with her heart and brilliantly caring. She strives to do good with all her dreams and always does so with her love. It's something I've always been infatuated by. The best example I can conjure up is her willingness to dream up her own company not just for herself, but in hopes to enable her other dreams; dreams of one day owning her own foster home and being what she was to me for all who don't have parents.
My mom is community driven. She is a people person if I ever knew one. All the people she loves dearly she holds close to her heart and will never let go of.

When it come to me, I know that's the case with every fiber in my being. I have never been more cared about then by my mother. Its a blessing that I forget too often.
With others in her life I know she cherishes her relationships like with her sisters and my step Dad. In this time and season of hardship, lots of broken relationships have been made to grow closer. With my mom growing closer to her mother as of recent, I know that relationship is something she hold so precious as well.

My mom is tough. My mom has been through so many physical and mental battles throughout her life. I don't think I have met or heard of anyone in my realm of reality who has been through as much as she has. I will never doubt the strength she has to endure all these things. Her faith and tenacity gives me faith in my hard times and I hope that is the case for all who hear her story of beating this cancer. I hope this small glimpse of my mom is infatuating as it is for me."

From her Husband, Raul Quesada :
"I saw Elizabeth for a brief moment when she was visiting our military base in Torejon, Spain. She was there with her gymnastics team for the afternoon, and in that short time I saw her long enough to notice her big beautiful blue eyes and her smile.

That was the day, that beautiful 14 year old girl walked in and out of my life. A few years later she was back in my life but now as a school mate in Tampa,Florida, in 1980. But, life has a way of taking different paths so we went our separate ways.
It would be 30 years later before we reconnected and fell in love all over again, and this is when we got married. The things that a young man sees are so different when he’s older and wiser.
The things I’ve learned about my wife are truly amazing and there is no better privilege then to share with you a short bio about the woman who stole my heart with a smile.

As a young lady Liz really had no one to mentor her and she more or less did things on her own, kind of like flying under the radar. NO one noticing her and that’s the way she wanted it.

In high school she would run to stay in shape and her little sister would run with her. Liz mentored her little sister and inspired her to run just like she had and later received a full ride athletic scholarship to FIU.
That was the beginning of how she spent the rest of her life inspiring young men and women. For the last 30 years she has been a leader at Grace Family Church in Tampa. Through faith she has brought her entire family to live a Christian lifestyle. Her creativity is also a testament in itself. Her ELuccia Hand bags that she designs has been put on hold right now as Liz is preparing for the biggest battle of her life, which she intends to win.

2 years ago at the young age of 53, Liz went back to college and is now finishing her Bachelors in Psychology. I am so proud to say she has accomplished that with honors! Her next task is to get her Doctorate in Psychology and then get into marriage counseling as well as family counseling.

I cannot forget to mention her amazing son who she refers to as her miracle baby. She has raised a strong, young, 20 year old man who has become a future leader and spiritual leader in his community; a God-loving and respectable young man that is on his way to higher education from the inspiration of his mother.

When they told her 'no you cant have children', she said 'With God on my side, yes I can' and she did. When life says 'no', Liz says 'yes I can!' She always gives it her all until she reaches that goal and never gives up til its accomplished. That’s my friend, my lover and my wife as well as my soul mate."

Unfortunately, Liz was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts nearly a month ago. Doctors told her she’s had breast cancer in both breasts for over 3 years. As the determined woman she is, Liz decided she would graduate first and then get a mastectomy on May 16 in the early hours of the morning at Baptist Hospital.
Her only wish now is to be able to stay just one extra night that insurance won’t pay for between the day she has to get all her exams done and the day she gets operated. With out the funds to stay that extra night in between, she feels it will make the entire process scarier and more stressful.
Please find it in your hearts to donate anything you can. If you arent able to, we ask you please pass this down to as many people you know. Share this on your social media, send via email or text, anything helps. Her operation is right around the corner. Let’s pray, come together, and contribute to make Liz’s dream come true to stay another night. We really need your donations. Thank you all and God bless.
