Linda's dream of friends, family and freedom.
Dear friends and family,
Linda Carmichael Rose, my wonderfully creative mother, is all at once facing the return of late-stage bladder cancer and the loss of her home.
Linda and her husband, Steve, were forced to sell their home and Linda’s art studio of 30 years, while in the midst of foreclosure proceedings. The home has been sold, and they will need to be out within a few weeks at most. Financial challenges along with my mother's recent recurrence of bladder cancer, chronic COPD requiring constant oxygen, and severe mobility issues, make this is a tall order. There are little funds for living, much less buying their next home.
Linda dreams of transitioning to “van life,” spending the time she has left on the road. Traveling with Steve, Linda would visit friends along the way and, ultimately, spend some time out in LA with my son and me before he heads to art school in the fall. She views this as her next great adventure. I admire her spirit. I know so many of you do and have been touched by her creativity and generous spirit.
With minimal funds, we are trying to make her dream of a home on wheels a reality. This is why I’m reaching out to their (and my) incredible community of friends. Donations large and small would make this possible. Please help if you are able, monetarily and by sharing this page. Every little bit helps us get closer to our goal.
Our dearest friend Ruth Barber, an adopted daughter/sister of my mom and mine is also managing this ask for help - Ruth was a student of my mom's scenic art, they worked on sets together for years and will be the first stop for my mom and Steve. Thank you for all your support and love Ruthie!
Thank you very much,
Jesse Carmichael, Linda’s daughter
