LET’S HELP KRIS AND FRAN

Hello. My name is Stephanie and I am a retired high school teacher from Holy Trinity Diocesan High School. During my teaching years I also worked as a Student Council Advisor, a job I shared with my colleague and good friend Kristine. Our students called us the “Dynamic Duo” but it was always Kris who could quickly create our next course of action or find a needy cause in our own school community where our services would be appreciated.

Kristine was a role model teacher of math and science. She began her career as a fifth-grade teacher for a talented and gifted class. She taught all subjects at Saint Kilian’s Elementary School. During her years there she also taught seventh and eighth grade math and science and later served as the coordinator of the math program. Kristine’s management and leadership skills were further implemented when she was promoted to Assistant Principal.

I met Kris when she was hired at Holy Trinity. She taught all levels of math and was also the yearbook advisor for many years. In addition, she was elected and served as math department Chairperson. Finally, Kristine, her sister Fran along with their parents were very active life-long members of Saint Raphael’s Parish when they lived on Long Island.

Kristine has also been a role model front-runner as a friend to all who have been fortunate to have worked with her at school or through her varied church activities. Fran often served as our cheerleader and was a sympathetic ear when we needed one. If Kris found out you needed anything, you would be invited to her house practically the next day. She cooked the most delicious Italian meal you could ever hope for and by dessert, Kristine was helping you start a plan of action to help yourself out of your dilemma. It was like a trip to the Wizard of Oz!

I am now asking for support to help my friend Kristine and her sister Fran. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Kris retired several years ago and moved with her father and Fran to another state to be nearer to family and for economic reasons. Since their move, there have been several financial setbacks. Their father also passed away a few years ago. There were and still are many medical issues for both Kristine and Fran and at present, daily life is a challenge. Furthermore, there just is not much income now. Regrettably, due to all the medical, hospital and dental bills, medicines, high co-pays, transportation along with testing and lab costs not covered by insurance, they have been struggling to move forward. Sadly, Kris and Fran are now facing the monthly question of food, pharmacy, or mortgage?

I am hoping that with the support of their friends, former students, colleagues, and really anyone who can help, Kristine and Fran will be able to enjoy their retirement much more than they have been able to these days. Every donation will make a difference. With this help they will no longer have to worry, postpone or worse yet cancel necessary medical and dental treatment due to lack of finances. For those who do know Kris, remember, she would donate for you. Please help me to help them to keep their home and stay well.
