Let's Help Kim Turney During This Trying Time

Donation protected
As some of you know or may not know, our dear friend Kim is dealing with vision loss.  In November of 2020, she went blind in her right eye. After spending 6 nights in the hospital, she was diagnosed with NAION and was told it would not affect her left eye. She was able to go back to work, drive, etc.

Unfortunately, in April of 2021, she started to lose her vision in her left eye. She immediately went to Houston for treatment and learned after extensive testing that it was an auto-immune disease and her antibodies were attacking healthy tissue.

The doctors gave her a plasma transfusion to prevent any further vision loss, however, she will not know if it is effective for the next 4-6 weeks. They are also hopeful that some of her vision in her left eye (only) will return, but it is not a guarantee.

As of now, Kim cannot see well enough to work, drive, read text messages, etc. She is applying for disability but it could take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to go through. Thankfully, Gnoss has been with her from the get-go, so she is in good hands.

She needs our help. I have set the goal extremely high since we have no idea when things will go back to her "new normal." This goal might decrease as we learn more, but in the meantime, we need to help her out with bills (medical and living) as well as basic living expenses.

The goal now to help her over the next  2 months is to hit $10k.

Below is a message from Kim:

Just a quick update to let everyone know I’m doing Ok. My vision hasn’t improved but the Doctors suggested that, if it does, it could take 4-6 weeks to begin to notice. Despite everything I’m thankful for what I have at this point. I’m otherwise healthy and the support and I’ve received is overwhelming. I won’t have another update until after the next assessment in about a month. I can’t put into words the amount of gratitude I have for the friends and family that have offered to help in any way they can, unfortunately it’s too early for me to know what I’m going to need. For now just know I’m resting comfortably and making the best of the situation.

Here's a video from one of my specialist (Neuro-Ophthalmologist; Dr. Andrew Lee)
discussing his diagnosis in detail:

Thanks everyone for your help and kind words! She definitely feels the love!
