As a long-time teacher at Littlerock High School (CA), I always tell people that we must take care of those who take care of us. Kim Harman has taken care of all of us for many years. As a secretary for our Assistant Principal, she is in charge of many things that most of us can't even comprehend, and she always works diligently to make sure all of us are taken care of. Mrs. Harman helps teachers, subs, and students upfront and behind the scenes, doing so many things that we never even see. She is a conscientious employee, always full of humor and honesty, seriously the glue that holds things together for our campus. If anyone needs anything, Kim is there to be helpful and make sure that things run smoothly.

 

Recently, Kim and her family have fallen on extremely trying times. Her family has had its share of medical issues, not the least of which is her husband, Greg's (an AVHSD sub-employee), diagnosis of brain cancer and severe dementia. Kim has tirelessly worked at home and school to ensure that he is taken care of while still taking care of our campus, often working through her own severe pain to make sure that we are all taken care of. Now, Kim's Dr has told her that it is time for back surgery; she cannot put it off any longer without drastic damage being done. As a result, Kim will be off work and out of commission for a few weeks (months). She has done all she can without asking anyone for or accepting help, but it is time that we all step up to help this wonderful lady and her family.
