Hi Everyone! My name is Cassie, and I am a close friend of Kennie and Natalie. Recently Kennie has been in and out of the hospital fighting for his life, battling a virus attacking the pericardium of his heart. Kennie has the kindest soul and is a pretty active guy who loves to play hockey and volleyball, he also enjoys cooking delicious and healthy meals with his beautiful wife, Natalie. Two weeks ago, Kennie went to the ER by ambulance because he had severe chest pain and fainted. After numerous EKGs, IV fluids, and other tests, they found that he had pericarditis (inflammation of the pericardium of the heart) caused by a virus possibly stemming from long haul covid, although the doctors are not sure if it is related to long haul covid or something else entirely. He started feeling better, so he was released after a 4-day hospital stay to go home. After being home for two days, Kennie again, passed out, this time in the bathroom and hit his head. Natalie called the ambulances, and Kennie was rushed to the hospital, where he is still right now. The doctors have done more tests and have him on constant IV medications. The doctors are trying to get him off IV medications and on to pill medications so Kennie can go home, but he still has a battle ahead of him. Kennie also had to take a large cut in pay while he is out sick. The stress is becoming too much between battling this virus and the bills stacking up. We are asking for any donations to help Kennie and Natalie take care of medical expenses, loss of wages, and ambulance trips to the ER during this extremely trying time.
