Soooo …. I want to share with you my best friend Kelly’s journey over the last 2-3 years. Every time she gets sick, her body goes through a rollercoaster of crazy symptoms, always different, from swollen hands and feet, joint pain, muscle pain, ears ringing, headaches, depression, anxiety, mood swings, breast pain, autoimmune symptoms … along with a list of many other things. After seeing numerous doctor's that specialized in numerous areas in the medical field and what seemed liked hundreds of doctor appointments, the rheumatologist was convinced she had an autoimmune disease. Things changed this week, Kelly had terrible pain in her sides, she felt like something was stabbing her in the kidneys, and not to mention dealing with what felt like a month-long cold. The doctors ordered more tests. Mind you, she had had a TON of blood work and imaging over the last couple of years and finally, after 2 years … she received a diagnosis of BII, Breast Implant Illness. It turns out her implants are making her sick, and she needs them removed. Now, she's facing a new challenge … the cost. Her doctor tried to navigate through all the loopholes with insurance to get as much covered as possible, but unfortunately, insurance is not an option for a procedure like this. The surgery alone is around $9,500, which she simply can't afford . It was suggested to me to try a GoFundMe for her. She has been hesitant, feeling that no one will contribute to help her with something related to her breast implants as she doesn’t have cancer, but she has been pretty sick on and off. This illness has taken a toll on her body, mentally, emotionally, and physically, and she needs the implants removed to regain her health and her life back, especially for her busy boys. I'm holding onto hope that there isn't any other damage they've caused to her body besides all the challenges she’s been facing for the last couple of years. Kelly has played a vital role in volunteering many hours of her time to the community. She organizes and puts together everything from food tables to major events! Shes always trying to help others when she’s the one needing help right now. She is determined to rise above and get through it, for not only herself but her family. And I’m here to fight with her. Please consider helping Kelly get this surgery she needs so she can get back to good health and be around for a long time for her kids, her family and her friends that love her so much. Every dollars helps!!! Every share spreads the word. Will you join Team Kelly?
